The best gluten-free mini spiced biscuit recipe!
Kruidnoten are a traditional Dutch treat that is typically consumed during the holiday season, specifically in the Netherlands and Belgium. These small, bite-sized cookies are made from a spiced dough that contains ingredients such as cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves. They have a crunchy chewy texture and a slightly sweet and aromatic flavor.
Kruidnoten are closely associated with the celebration of “Sinterklaas,” a festive holiday in Dutch culture that takes place on December 5th. During this time, Sinterklaas (the Dutch version of Saint Nicholas) arrives in the country, and children receive gifts and sweets. Kruidnoten are commonly enjoyed by both children and adults as a traditional treat during the Sinterklaas festivities. However, they have become increasingly popular and can be found in stores leading up to and during the holiday season.

For this recipe I made my own flour mixture using buckwheat, oat and almond flour. Alternatively you could use a high quality gluten-free flour blend like Schär Pâtisserie Mix C.
