Tips for traveling gluten-free
When you’re adhering to a gluten-free eating regimen, one of the main obstacles you might face during your travels is the language barrier. To facilitate gluten-free travel, I highly recommend carrying a Gluten-Free Restaurant Card. Personally, I find it worthwhile to invest in a reliable gluten-free restaurant card that specifically addresses the issue of cross-contamination. Since Belgium has multiple official languages, I recommend a Dutch and French gluten-free restaurant card. Below, I have provided some fundamental Dutch and French expressions to communicate your dietary needs.
Furthermore, it’s beneficial to conduct preliminary research before your trip. Explore local eateries that offer gluten-free alternatives and acquaint yourself with regional dishes that are typically free of gluten. By combining a dependable gluten-free restaurant card with advance research, you will be well-equipped to navigate your dietary restrictions while traveling.
