In over 150 McDonald’s in the Netherlands you can find a gluten-free Hamburger, Cheeseburger or Quarter Pounder. The gluten-free bread bun was developed in collaboration with the Dutch Celiac Association (NCV). The gluten-free burgers contain less than 5 ppm (0.0005% gluten), far below the gluten-free standard of 20 ppm and less. Besides, the employees are well trained to prepare your order gluten-free and to prevent cross-contamination. The burgers are prepared in the same kitchen, but according to strict procedures and measurements. The gluten-free burgers cost the same as ordinary burgers. Isn’t that awesome!
I chose the gluten-free Cheeseburger. The burger is made of 100% beef with melted cheddar cheese. The gluten-free hamburger bun was slightly dry but still tasty with seeds on top. The cheeseburger was topped with a layer of ketchup, mustard, fresh onions and pickles. Also, the fries from McDonald’s in the Netherlands are gluten-free.
